The Äänetär spell poetry concert is coming to Sahanlahti on September 7!

The Äänetär spell poetry concert, written and composed by the singing collective Sabrina ja Saarten tytärten and stage poet Jonna Nummelan (Nihkee), is a defiant, feminist, and multidisciplinary folk art rebellion.

Äänetär weaves similarities between contemporary performance poetry and ancient Finnish spell poems, showing how individuals who use their voices in ways that deviate from the norm have always been a headache and a force for change in society: witches, old women, and agitators.
